Cemetery Board

Preserving and maintaining neglected cemeteries across Whitley County.

In compliance with KRS Chapter 67, the Whitley County Cemetery Board was established by Ordinance No. 2008-08 on December 16, 2008 by the Whitley County Fiscal Court.

With concern about the condition of the many cemeteries within the county’s borders that have fallen into neglect and disrepair, the Cemetery Board was established to preserve and maintain these gravesites and cemeteries. The Board has the authority to act to restore and maintain non-profit cemeteries that do not receive perpetual care funds pursuant to KRS 367.952.

The Board consists of five volunteer members appointed by the Whitley County Judge/Executive and approved by the Whitley County Fiscal Court.
